Not detecting the coin door properly

A couple of people were playing and their game was interrupted when it said the coin door was open, but it was still locked. I confirmed that the door was properly depressing the interlock switches, but to no effect, and even manually pressing both of them down didn't fix the problem.

I then turned the game off and back on. After a startup sequence that suggests it might not have the right number of balls installed, it started up and was playing fine, but at that point, opening the coin door wasn't detected and the machine left high voltage on. Again, manually activating and releasing the interlock switches didn't have any effect.
